Pickathon

Apologies for not writing this post sooner, I seem to have come down with a post flight case of tonsillitis ( a first for me) so i've been feeling a bit quiet and out of it.
Anyway one of the highlights of my trip to Portland was Pickathon the music festival i was lucky enough to go with lovely lady ( meeting her was another one of those highlights.
 Pickathon, a showcase for alternative country, folk and roots music, is set in a beautiful old farm with woods on it ( and a couple of horses) ALot of the festival ( if not all of it, just not sure about this ) is done sustainably and so beautifully at that.

There were 6 stages ( apologies again for lack of pic of each) which meant at most times of the day and night there was at least 2 different  acts playing.

  My favourite was the Wood stage ( set in the woods) where i was lucky enough to say one of my favourite bands Blitzen Trapper play an amazing set the first night.

 I really feel in love with both the Woods stage and the woods in general . I felt they were sort of magic. On Saturday when it was very hot 38℃ i hit out in the woods, both at the stage and away from it, taking little walks, sitting on stumps and crocheting being the nanna I am. I loved it there.

As well as the great line up and great music, there was a wonderful feeling and vibe at the festival too. It was a very family friendly festival with heaps of kids and kids activities , which I think really added to the special feeling there.

People were so friendly, i made many little friends for a set, or hanging out in the woods.

I'm so grateful to Alex, for inviting me to this, and introducing me to the festival I had never heard of. I simply loved it, and couldn't have asked for better hosts. Or a more gorgeous festival.

 I feel very lucky indeed
