small achievements

I'm not someone who hates winter, i don't mind it as much as some, although I do prefer autumn and spring. But one thing i hate about winter is chilblains which I get every year without fail on my right hand ( and i'm right handed so this is a big pain)
This year however instead of being resigned to the fact that there's nothing you can do for chilblains per say except kept your hands at a similar temperature all the time and be miserable with the buggers, i decided to work on my bad circulation which is a factor getting chilblains.
I inherited my poor circulation from my mum ( thanks mum!) but after googling "ways to help circulation" and "natural remedies for poor circulation" i started to hand and wrist exercises many times a day, hand massages, drinking ginger tea and most importantly reducing my smoking.
The last one is a big one for me , and while some may feel it's not that big as I haven't quit, for me who seriously loves smoking it's a big thing. And in the last month or so I've cut my cigarettes down by at least 5- 7 a day. Sure some days i do better than others, i have stressy days where I tend to go back a little, but still I'm not back to the amount I was smoking before. I don't give myself a hard time about the less "good "days, as well it's the overall effect really, and the more important thing is, well i'm making active efforts to be more aware of trying to keep it under a certain number.
and sure it's a very small thing in terms of the achievements of peeps in the world, but I'm a little proud.
So that's my little achievement, have you had any little moments you need to blow your own trumpet about? I'd love to hear.

This year I got chillblains on my feet, and before that I never even knew such a thing existed! I had NO idea why my toes were in so much pain! I'm not a fan. And my mum told me they'll probably flare up every winter - joy! I'm feeling your pain. xxx
