my creative space

It probably looks like I've made very little progress with Mr Bear head ( Igor to be exact) but believe me much work has been going into him. My "aged" bears and bears based off real antique bears is they are a very time consuming project, a lot of work and detail goes into them that probably isn't really seen.
so igor is moving slowly along, has acquired another ear , a body and arms and legs which are all in the process of the plucking, staining and felting.

That and I was my absolute craziest at one point, test dyeing re dyeing the felt for his paw pads at least 15 times, because well I couldn't rest until I was happy . Which meant everything else re bear was delayed. There's been the usual bear head obsessing, mooshing, wonking and of course staining and plucking.

I've said it before and I'll say again, i love making these sorts of bears, I love the all consuming nature of them, how i sort of get lost in making them, my full concentration focused and time can just fly. A timelessness where I can forget worries and wobbles, hurts and stresses for a small window of time.
I hope you have time to get lost in creating today.

This is why your creations are so, SO amazing Jess. Can't wait to see him all finished, whenever that may be.

I love your clever bears and their antique look. My son is also very clever at ageing his bears, but he does it in a much more rough and tumble way, dragging them by the ears and sleeping on top of them. :)

I know exactly what you mean in the getting lost in things business. May I say, that all the love and work that you put in to your critters does indeed shine through. Colin is my absolute proof. That bear can do expression like there's no tomorrow.

everyone said what I was thinking. Your time and effort and dedication to them shows massively in their little faces.

( you know photos like that first one make me feel incredibly anxious, poor bear!!!!)

Your artistry comes through in your writing as much as it does in your wonklings, Jess. Good stuff.
