is a very wonk head. Intentionally so, I'm having a crack at making another of my versions of my beloved old bear Ferdy. One of the things I love about making a bear like this because of the degree of wonk, all rules go out the window. Then to think of it I'm not much of a rule follower anyway.
Anyway head is patiently waiting for another ear, and a body, but knowing fully that his body ( and ear) will come in time when Im happy ( or happy enough). Don't ask me why i often stop for a while with one ear, but I'm rather prone to it. Resting there for a while and going back to working on the head. THere's no logic to it, other than perhaps with the addition of the first ear, I can see where the head needs more urgent attention which I feel is more important to attend to than a second ear. But seriously don't ask me.
But I don't really make bears in a logical or proper way.
but it ( sort of) works for me so if it aint broke why fix it.
A big thank you to Kirsty for being a host each week, and enabling us to share our and see others creative spaces.

I love reading about your wonky process, Jess :) I got rather a shock when I saw the first picture - so much expression in that face, it seemed wrong that he didn't have a body too ;) Have a great day. Kx
Those eyes - in the first pic!
So gorgeous.
And again, great to see and hear your process. Its got to feel right.xxx
Yours is not to wonder why; yours is jut to enjie. I love that head all on its own.Yourbears hve so much peronality. Cherrie
Love it! It's great to be free & do your own thing, sometimes I think I need to let go a bit more, especially when it comes to grunging them up!
Seriously? How the heck do you manage so much character from these little cuties..So Love him..
Don't fix it, don't change anything. I love the way you do things. You are an artist and its perfect.
That is the most adorable face. Love reading about the way you work too.
It definitely ain't broke.
He is so not wonky, he is wonderful. I'm a little bit in love with Crosby. Does he have a girlfriend??? Or given his secret floral fixations does he bat for the other team? ;)
Hi Jess, hope you're feeling better today - and I'm glad you're not a rule follower!
stop being so clever!
i can't believe how quickly you whip up these beautiful bears of yours (and rabbits and friends)
x
Aaww... Jess I can already see personality in those eyes. Wonky is perfect.
He's a charmingly wonky bear!
p.s. Oh my gosh your comment made me so happy! I loved making Morris, and I am seriously not very good at crocheting so it was clearly a brilliant pattern. Thanks for your sweet compliments!
I've told you before....Please, PUHLEEZE warn me before you do the dismembered-looking bear pics! Although after the initial startlement, the earless, bodyless one quite grew on me. But I am rather partial to that sort of wonky bear...
maybe it's about finding the balance, but as you say if it aint broke. in his bodiless one eared state he has a surprising amour of personality happening. you are very good jess
your wonky process if wonky perfection Jess, and this guy, so few parts, so much personality already
I think he is verypatiently waiting.
Wat does WONK mean??
I will look it up.
he is really lovely, does not look at all wonky! I always seem to stop when I'm about 90% done, then I really have to push myself to finish up. Like the teddy bear I made, I still haven't stitched on the ears, they are still held by pins!
Hi Jess, you sound like me with multiple things on the go at once all in various stages. Keeps the creativity coming and I don't get bored LOL. Love seeing your process
Lee:)
