Right now I'm looking after both Dusty ( dad's dog while he's away in the UK) and my own Turtle McGurdle. And living and looking after two houses.
Most of the time I'm loving it. Loving the difference in cats and dogs, the outward robust affection from Dusty and the quiet companionship of having a cat on your lap.
Dusty's favourite game is playing stick which she gets super excited about
( less excited about bringing the stick back however
) and it never fails to make me laugh and smile, seeing her run around with a stick in her mouth like it's the worlds greatest treasure.

but sometimes to be honest it's driving me a little nuts. And sometimes I feel like no matter how much I try i'm failing them both.

Dusty needs lots of walks and attention, I think she's a little freaked by dad being gone, but who ever said Cats don't really need humans is wrong, well wrong in Turtles case. She gets lonely and depressed.
THe two houses bit I could definetly do without, but I tried orchestrating a little meeting, and lets say it didn't go too well.
And poor old Turtle's getting the rough end of the stick, as you can see she's less than impressed.
But for now I can only do the best I can do, and in the meantime focus on the positives.

that all sounds really busy and a bit stressful. What a shame they don't get along!
ohh Jess, won't be long now. dogs & cats aren't supposed to be mates, well that's what cartoons have taught me, so it's not your fault.
don't stress, enjoy the funny dog antics & enjoy your little ball of fluff aswell.

p.s no NCB this week
Oh you must be so worn out. Cats and dogs do get along as ours do. They do take a bit of time and perhpas it is best if Dusty meets Turtle when tired as the cat wont be so stressed out then. Maybe the cat can be higher up to feel safe too which always helps and in time they might become friends which would be great for you.
cats really have a way of showing their displeasure, don't they?! Don't worry, Turtle will forgive you, one day!
