Is not an entirely happy place today.
I finally finished that bear, and I'm less than happy with him. I've spoken about the anti-climax scenario, and I'm feeling that big time. I wish i liked him more, and I really thought or more hoped that i would get "there" on this one.
I'm feeling a little discouraged and frustrated, as this bear well he means alot me to and i've put alot in. He's been entensively aged, stained, plucked in hope of recreating the "old bear" look and like Gus ( bear on the left whom I didn't make), my old steiff bear he's been inspired by and based off. His name is Colin by the way, and I think he's a very quiet gentle and patient bear.

Your bear is very sweet. I just know you will end up adoring him. You two just need to get to know each other a bit, now that he's all finished. I have a bear that did nothing for me once I was finished with her. And now I simply adore her, she is my unofficial mascot. She sits next to me and watches as I make my bears. Give it a little time 'cause he is very sweet! ;)
Oh Jess how could you not be head-over-heels in love with Colin?? He is absolutely adorable.
that post made me so sad for the bear. he does kind of have this look, like "Mother Creator, please like me! I'm not all that bad". I think he's perfect! xo m.

Colin is beautiful. He's still got that look of sad longing on his face. Is it because you based him on your steiff (who obviously means so much to you)that you are not entirely happy with him do you think? I think he is wonderful and I'm sure he will grow on you eventually. xxx

Jess he is wonderful. I know I am certainly no bear expert but to me he looks perfect. I adore him.
Maybe put him away for a few weeks (with a blanky and a snack of course) and I'm sure you'll feel differently when you pull him out again. If you don't love him then at least you'll be able to see him with fresh eyes and know what you have to fix.

your hard work has paid off - he's really cute, and he looks like he's just asked you a question, and is waiting to hear the answer, or maybe the look is more... "But Jess, how could you not love me more? I'm soft and sweet?"

My heart is breaking for Colin, but luckily he can't read blogs. I want you to love him Jess, but I know that feeling....
I think its the comparison thing - take him away from Gus and let him be his own bear and , maybe you might see him differently....he seems an erstwhile fellow to me, less laid back than Gus, I guy who writes lists.
Goodness me, you are a silly girl! He is a delight & if he were to be reading your post, I might think he'd be pretty upset. Don't hate him Jess. He's just a little bear trying to do good in the world. He just wants to make someone happy. Show him the love so he can go forth & give so much love to that someone special.

i think you need to leave him out of sight for a while, definitely need fresh eyes to see him again.
all that hard work has tired you out and can see things about him you probably wouldn't otherwise.

oh jess you are way to hard on yourself. colin is adorable!! i think he shares a little sadness with you in those eyes though. he just wants to make you happy and is really trying hard to be loved just as much as gus. but he is not gus. colin is very much his own bear, special in everyway. let him shine in his own light not under the shadow of gus xx
