photo from here.Like one might suddenly feel clucky, I have suddenly come down with a big case of the doggies. It's been brewing for a while I think, but the final straw was meeting Kate's beautiful dog Pixie, and now I feel I must absolutely get a dog within the next year or so. I guess it was only a matter of time, I come from a Dog Family. This isn't a case of puppy love though, it's full blown grown up doggy love. And I know exactly what I want, as much as I do adore Staffys, I know in my heart of hearts I want a Kelpie cross, Australian Cattle dog cross or the classic undefinable "black dog" or "brown dog".
One like Reggie above would be just perfect.
That's not to say I don't adore my Turtle McGurdle, but I do miss the boofy, wonderful enthusiasm of dogs.
It won't be until next year I think, as I've got a bit of traveling later in the year which wouldn't be fair to a nice dog, but a girl can dream in the mean time..

These two other pictures are of our Mo, our last family dog, who left us 4 or 5 years ago. Possibly the most revolting, ridiculous and lovable dog there ever was. WHo i still miss, who whenever I think about him, I can't stop laughing.

My boys are driving me nuts with their "need" to have a dog. You'd think the chooks and guinea fowl would be sufficient, but...nah! Good luck finding the right dog for you, Jess.
I love dogs because they are always happy! My dog Patch is my angel
I couldn't live without a dog, they are the best! I like your dreaming phase though too. Travelling? Sounds fun, wish I could come too! xo
Lucky Pixie is an outdoors dog, because if she were in here right now reading over my shoulder, I am certain she would be howling to go and live at your place. Hope you are having an easier week so far. X
Oh, I desperately love dogs tooooo!! I would love to have a dog but my other half really want a dog. And we have tried, we did babysit Brooke's lovely sauso Mocca but alas my partner still wasn't converted.
I hope those later year travel plans include Tokyo!!

Your dream dog sounds like the dog from my childhood. His name was Bong & we got him from the pound. He was big & black & a mix of sheppard & lab I think.
There's a website called www.australiancattledogrescue.com. That's how we found Arthur.
Hope you're well & happy & keeping toasty.
I've decided to take a photo of Huckle with his teddy every month to see how he grows (Huckle that is, not the teddy. Ha ha).
Bit of a disjointed comment, but that's how the brain is functioning a the moment.
