I have a confession to make, when I posted the "Old Friends " post the other day I had no idea of what the "this is" theme was this week. I don't tend to check the "this is" theme til about sunday, and funnily enough it was a complete coincedence. Which to be honest is freaking me out a little, why this week, when the theme was what it is, did I happen to find some long lost friends? It is all a little too strange and it is not the first time it happened. When the theme was " this is my favourite pair of shoes" days before I had bought a new pair of shoes, and blogged about lamenting having to give up somewhat on my favourite ones.
Anyway enough of that. Although the guys I posted in Old Friends also fit the theme, for me to choose my favourite childhood possession is like asking a mother to choose between her children I love them all so much and I cannot possibly do it. There are even more than pictured in these two posts, there's Lamby, Hippy, Friday, Belle, Womby, Froggy ( again showing my ingenious naming skills as a child) Humpfrey the list goes on, so I decided that try to fit them all on, in addition to the guys below, I would post the two things I've had the longest and very much treasured and loved. Hey-dee-ho and Quilty ( the quilt underneath him). I have had the both as a baby and they still sleep on my bed. Quilty to let you know, is not just a quilt, but had and has a personality and feelings, many a game was played called the Blob, in which I covered myself in Quilty and crawled around the house. A few years ago when mum suggested it was til for Quilty to go, I was mortified and worried that he may have heard. ( At the age of 24) And Hey-dee, bless his soul, well he's beyond words.
Thanks to teacups on the treetops for this fabulous theme, and to our lovely host Angela.

Oh my gosh, you have so many old friends! How lucky that you got to keep them all. I think a lot of my old toys were sold at a garage sale :(
That is truly a well loved quilty.
As for Hey-dee, may he have a long long life.
That is spooky, but what a collection of beautiful old friends you have. I love Quilty, do you still play Blob??
Hey Jess! Quilty looks like my old "Blankie" only yours still exists. Dad told us they gave it to the little children in the orphanage who had no blanket. (HA!)See? You're not the only one with the obvious/original names! hahaha
Thank you all for the Quilty love, and Hey-dee appreciation. Unfortunately I am now to big to play Blob, as I wouldn't be hidden under it anymore, there would be arms and legs everywhere. Although the bears sometimes play it. And Mare, I'm so glad I am not the only one with the y ending on everything, I had a Blankie too, but left him on a train, and my only hope is that he is still travelling around Australia, seeing all the sights.
You are lucky to have so many beautiful old friends with you still. Both Hey-dee-ho and Quilty look very well loved and treasured!! I love the names you chose for them too. Thanks for sharing :)
Oh so cute! I especially love your quilt!
Hey-dee is so sweet.
Wow - you are psychic! It's weird when things like that happen.. Like when you're thinking of someone - and then moments later they call.. I love your childhood treasures. So cute.
