Even though I love this weeks this is, I found it challenging to decide which of all the bears i make to use for it.
The bear I am currently making my new polar, isn't finished yet, he's only a finished head, and I though since I already posted a bodiless bear in a previous post, that is might be a bit morose to make a thing of it. Or I should change my new to teddybearsheadwednesday. I hope it's not cheating but i have used a bear that I made last year.
Anyway I decided to use Willoughby, who I guess is the most elaborate , the one that is the most work and my favourite.
He inspired by my old bear Wilbur from who's pic is up on the sidey thing, and is I guess an old fashioned bear, you know fully jointed mohair, boot button eyes etc. I dyed the mohair ( 3 times) , sew all the bit together and stuff and sat there with my scissors and tweezers and slowly work him into the look of an old well loved bear. He's all wonky but he's meant to be. He took a long time. And I would love to obsess over him, especially his head, that took the longest, as well you know his life and spirit is in his face, and I would walk round with his head ( yes head) and take him into different rooms, different lights, to make sure I would get it right. Silly I know but something is so important to you, you want it to be just right.
Thanks Betty for such a great theme is week and thanks Angela for starting the whole thing.
