Eye spy: A gadget

images from here.
I chose a Woddles, a waffle maker that makes penguin shaped Waffles, which I don't have but is on my permanent wish list. I'm not the most pratical person, I don't even have a grater or a fry pan in my kitchen, or a mixer, or more than 1 cutting board and yet I want one of these more, and think of getting one before these more logical pratical things. Go figure.
But it's so goddam cute!!
I'm playing along with Cindy's Eye Spy this week, and the theme choosen by Kellie ( thank you Kellie) was a gadget. Thanks so much for having me Cindy.

Little Blue Bear

I made this little guy over the weekend. His name is Numbat, ( i seem to be on a native australian animal name kick) and he was inspired by a beautiufl amigurumi book I saw in Kinokuniya Bookstore. ( my favourite bookshop)
He's a little different for me, I don't usually make unbear coloured bears and more primitive.
He's of a simple nature too, enjoys just bumbling along, and pondering things.

My place and yours: My Secret Weapon

I struggled a bit with this one, not because I have don't have one, but I sort of have a few. I totally agree with this gorgeous girl about music and my old bears, ( the antique ones not the ones I make) also are huge inspiration, comfort and source of joy for me. They old eyes are filled with such wisdom and love, and they never fail to make me feel squidgy in the tummy.
But when I can down to it my secret weapon is my Mum. I love my mum, and she is one very special and amazing lady. She is always there for me, has gotten through some really hard times in my life, stuck up for me, encouraged me, respected me and always made me feel loved and special. I feel I can tell her almost everything. We have a lot in common, and have a great time together. She gets me. I actually don't know what I would do without her. I also feel incredibly lucky because mum and are so close, she is a great friend as well as one super mum. When we were travelling together in the US and living on top of one another, we had only 1 niggle, and it was minor. I think that speaks for itself. And in the end of the day, nothing is better than a Mummy hug.
A big thanks to My Bricole for choosing this weeks theme, and Pip for hosting My Place and Yours. For more Secret Weapons look here.

Wombok

Here's my latest little bear, Wombok. Which is actually an asian form of cabbage, that I'm currently a little bit in love with ( the cabbage), it's really yummy. And I also am quite taken with the word, it's like Wombat ( which is a lovely word in it's own right) but to me Wombok has a little song to it, a little more surprising perhaps. You think the bat coming after the Wom, but NO it's a BOK!!! And if you say it over and over again it sounds a bit like a frog croaking. ( Ok by know I think you know I'm totally nuts- I will stop now I promise, it's just some words get me excited....)
Anyway Wombok the bear, is made out of a suri alpaca yarn I got from Purlsoho that is super fuzzy and snuggly, it looks a bit grey in the photos but is really more of a soft beige. He sort of reminds me a bit of Yoda from Star Wars? Wombok really likes Yoga, sitting in the sun, star jumps and alphabet soup in a cup.

Pony parade

Found on one of my favourite streets in my area, Little O'Grady which is full on funny little cottages they are mostly not fixed up.
Photos don't really do this justice, it was more special in the real but it was quite hard to photograph, and I'm not the best photographer.
Hope you get the feeling

My creative space

Firstly I want to thank you all for your lovely kind and encouraging comment last week about Mr Fluff, or Possum as I've now named him. I finally did finish him but I'm not sure I would have if I had not had you guys cheering me on. For more about him you can look here, but i decided to post a pic of him again too, if that's ok.
Same old story over here, another bear on the way, still in the land of fluff ( I can't get enough hehe) this guy is made out of a beautiful Suri alpaca yarn bought from Purlsoho that has a sort of felted finish. I have to say I'm enjoying experimenting a bit more with my little guys, and my recent trip has been a real source of inspiration for me.
Thanks so much to Kirsty for hosting My Creative space each week. Too see what others have been up to click over here.
